My Experience With This Deck
 
This deck really hit home for me. I wasn’t sure what to expect from it originally because when I first saw it I thought it looked cheap, like there wasn’t much effort put into it. I try not to judge, but I did every time I saw this deck in front of me. I saw it in every bookstore I went to, while browsing online, and even in one of the otherworldly stores in San Francisco I frequent for ritual incense. The deck would just stare at me like, why aren’t you listening to the calling you unconsciously feel?
 
I finally picked up the deck after going through a very rough time between December 2025 and February 2026. Like I normally do with any new tarot or oracle deck, I started observing every detail card by card. Slowly I started seeing myself reflected in the imagery, especially with the queer themes and the diverse representation of POC, which is something deeply important to me personally and something I feel can genuinely reach out to others too.
 
The moment I came across Lisa Sterle’s interpretation of the Ten of Swords, something in me struck a chord and made my heart skip a beat. The imagery felt incredibly suited for today’s social media age. Then I discovered there was a bonus version of the card, a softer interpretation interchangeable with the original, and I immediately swapped them out.
 
I later did a four-card reading for myself and honestly felt confused by what I was seeing because the entire reading revolved around choice and the direction my life was moving in. My final card was Justice, another card centered around balance and decision-making. So I pulled a fifth card to tie everything together for advice or outcome, and it was the Ten of Swords. I started crying.
 
When you react that strongly to a tool, especially one you initially resisted, it says a lot about the internal struggle of accepting change that completely shakes your world. The readings were reading, and I’ve continued reaching for this deck consistently for over a month between sessions with other decks.
 
I genuinely can’t recommend this purposeful deck enough, especially after learning that the first card Lisa Sterle created was the Ten of Swords during a difficult day in her own life. In a strange indirect way, it felt like she connected with me through the work itself.
